Sara Hurtado and Adrian Diaz are the first ever ice dance couple to represent Spain in ISU competition.
Sara started skating when she was eight years old and Adrian when he was five. They used to compete as single skaters.
Sara and Adrian teamed up to compete in ice dance in 2008 and started training in Madrid with John Dunn. In the middle of the 2011-2012
season they switched coaches and moved to Canada to work with 2006 and 2007 World silver medalists, Canadians Patrice Lauzon and Marie-France Dubreuil.
Since their debut, they have competed in World and European Championships as well as in international competitions and Junior and Senior Grand Prix events.
In September 2013 at the Nebelhorn Trophy which was the last qualifying event for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, Sara and Adrian made history by earning a spot for Spain in the ice dancing discipline for the first time.
